Instagram to Transcript converts the speech in a public Instagram Reel or video post into text with timestamps. Paste the link, sign in and the tool fetches the audio, shows the length and credit cost, and creates an AI transcript that you can copy or download as TXT, SRT or VTT. Use it to quote an interview, repurpose your own Reels as blog posts, add captions or keep notes from tutorials.
How Instagram to transcript works
Instagram does not provide a text transcript you can download, so the tool transcribes the audio. Our server looks up the public post from its link and passes the sound to your browser, which prepares it for transcription. An AI speech model returns the text as timed segments. Before you start, the page shows the post caption, the length and the credit cost on the button, so pasting a link never charges credits on its own.
Reels, video posts and exports
Links to Reels (/reel/), video posts (/p/) and older IGTV videos (/tv/) are supported when the account is public. Turn timestamps on to start each paragraph with its time, or off for clean text you can use in a caption, newsletter or article. Download TXT for reading or SRT and VTT subtitle files to caption an edited version. The spoken language is detected automatically.
Credits, limits and fair use
Transcription uses 2 credits per minute of audio, rounded up, so a 30-second Reel costs 2 credits. There is no free AI plan; sign in and use paid credits from your plan. Videos up to 20 minutes are supported, and each new link counts toward the limit of 20 TikTok and Instagram links per IP address per day. Stories, private accounts, age-restricted posts and photo posts cannot be read. Transcribe content you are allowed to use and credit the creator when you quote it.
Instagram to Transcript: four steps
Copy the Instagram link
Open the Reel or video post, tap Share or the three-dot menu and choose Copy link. Links to /reel/, /p/ and /tv/ pages work.
Get the video
Sign in and select Get video. The audio is fetched through our server and the length and credit cost are shown before anything is charged.
Transcribe with AI
Start the transcription. The audio is prepared in your browser and transcribed with timestamps, usually within a minute for a short Reel.
Review and export
Turn timestamps on or off, copy the text or download TXT, SRT or VTT. Check names, numbers and captions against the video before you reuse the text.
AI transcription, paid per minute
Every Instagram transcript is created by AI from the audio, so sign-in is required and transcription uses 2 credits per minute of audio, rounded up. Only public Reels and video posts up to 20 minutes are supported. Each new link counts toward the limit of 20 TikTok and Instagram links per IP address per day. Stories, private accounts and photo posts cannot be read.

How do I transcribe an Instagram Reel?
Copy the Reel link from the Share menu, paste it here, sign in, select Get video and then Transcribe with AI. The transcript appears on the page with copy and download buttons.

Can I transcribe Instagram Stories?
No. Stories and posts from private accounts need a logged-in Instagram session, which this tool does not use. Public Reels and video posts work.

Do I need to log in to Instagram?
No. The tool only reads public posts and never asks for your Instagram password. You need an account on this site to use AI transcription.
